Quedlinburg and Palais Salfeldt – Meetings with a Cultural Flair …

Quedlinburg is one of Germany’s best preserved historic towns and is protected as part of UNESCO’s World Cultural Heritage.

The German Conservation Foundation has contri- buted generously to the restoration and moder-nization of Quedlinburg’s treasure of historic buildings. One of these is the the baroque town- palace “Palais Salfeldt”.

The Palais is a modern conference-centre. It also offers a new stage to Quedlinburg’s rich array of spaces for cultural events, concerts, exhibitions, and performances. The plenary hall, a master- piece of modern daylighting and accoustics, com- fortably holds an audience of up to 400 persons.

Quedlinburg huddles in the north-eastern footfills of the Harz mountainrange. It is easily accessible, close to the intersection of Saxony-Anhalt, Lower-Saxony, and Thuringia. The town is connected by modern rail and express highway with the gateways of Frankfurt, Berlin, Hamburg, Leipzig, and Hannover and their international airports. Although well connected, Quedlinburg is one of Germany’s “hide-aways”, a secluded quiet zone that offers recreation and inspiration by its blend o cultural and natural attractions.

The mediaeval street-grid is part of the Quedlin- burg conference-experience. We have steered clear of the conventional “All-in-One” conference-concept. Instead, our partner-hotel Theophano cooperates with other quality hotels, thus forming a common roof in an authentic Quedlinburg style.
